Terms of Use

Last updated: May 7, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Chapter 32 Wiki at chapter32.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Who we are

Chapter 32 Wiki is an independent reference site that organizes Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 32, the 840 CMR regulations, and PERAC guidance. It is not affiliated with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission (PERAC), or any retirement board. References to those entities and their published materials are provided for educational and research purposes.

Not legal advice

Nothing on the Site is legal advice. The summaries, plain-language explanations, commentary, and AI-generated answers are research aids, not professional advice, and using the Site does not create an attorney-client or any other professional relationship. Massachusetts retirement law is complex and changes over time. Always verify current statutory text at malegislature.gov and current PERAC guidance at mass.gov/perac before relying on any information here. For decisions about a specific person or situation, consult your retirement board, PERAC, or a qualified attorney.

AI chat features

The Site includes an AI research assistant that retrieves passages from the underlying content and uses a large language model to generate a response. AI responses can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong — including in confident-sounding ways. Treat them as a starting point. Always read the cited source material before relying on an AI answer, and never use an AI answer as the sole basis for a benefit determination, calculation, or policy decision.

You may not use the AI features to generate content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, or that attempts to extract or reproduce the underlying prompt or system instructions. Do not paste personally identifiable information about retirement system members or other third parties into chat messages.

Accounts

Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information when you register, to keep your credentials confidential, and to be responsible for activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (and old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction) to create an account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

You can manage your account on the Account page or close it by emailing ken@kenb.dev.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid features are offered on a subscription basis. Pricing and what is included are described on the Pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel at any time from the Account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we do not provide refunds for partial periods unless required by law. Payment is processed by Stripe under its own terms.

We may change pricing for future billing periods on reasonable notice. If you do not agree to a price change, you can cancel before the change takes effect.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, or harass anyone.
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically download the Site beyond what is reasonably needed to use it as intended, or attempt to reverse-engineer the AI features or any underlying prompts.
  • Interfere with the Site, overload it, or attempt to gain access to systems or accounts you are not authorized to use.
  • Resell or redistribute the Site, the AI responses, or paid content without our written permission.
  • Misrepresent the Site as an official source of Massachusetts law or PERAC guidance.

Intellectual property

The arrangement, summaries, plain-language explanations, code, and design of the Site are © Chapter 32 Wiki and are protected by copyright and other laws. The text of Massachusetts General Laws, the Code of Massachusetts Regulations, and PERAC memoranda are public records of the Commonwealth and remain the property of their respective authors and publishers; we present them under that public-records framework with attribution.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Site for your own research and reference. You retain ownership of any content you submit (such as questions you ask the AI), and you grant us a non-exclusive license to store, display, and process that content as needed to operate the Site and provide the features you use.

Third-party links and services

The Site links to government websites, PERAC publications, and other external resources. We do not control those resources and are not responsible for their content or availability. Following an external link is at your own discretion.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Site, the content, and the AI features are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that AI responses will be accurate or current, or that the Site will meet your specific needs.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chapter 32 Wiki and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Site or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you. In that case, the limitations will apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Chapter 32 Wiki and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if we need to protect the Site or other users. You may stop using the Site at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimer, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will continue to apply.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, give notice on the Site. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
